Club Time Trials 2024

The usual Club evening series of Time Trials has been planned for 2024. It will start with a 10km leg opener followed by a series of evening 10 mile TTs and of course the traditional end of season Hill Climb on Portchester Lane. We have many season long categories running dependent on the type of bike used (road or TT), whether you are male or female and what age group you fall into (junior, senior and vets). with your best seven results across the season to count.

We have tried to foresee as many problems as possible and have alternative courses in place in case of any unexpected roadworks etc. Unfortunately we have still not managed to gain control over the weather, however, we did manage an almost full programme pf Club evening events last year.
The online entry system (https://ttresults.co.uk/enter-event) will again be in use plus once again we shall be using Wickham Community Centre as our HQ. There will be no cash payments as all entry fees will need to be paid by card on the night. To enter events follow the following link where you will find a full list of local Club events and where you can pre enter and request a late start. you can enter on the night and we do not take payments in advance. if you change your mind there is no need to cancel or let us know. Note all payments are now by Card only we no longer take cash for entries. You  will also be able to view the results on the tt results site usually shortly after the end of the event.

The entry fees for 2024 Club events will be as in previous years at £6 per rider over the age of 18 and £4 per rider for all juniors (under 18’s).

In order to be able to run these events we do need a team of timekeepers and helpers. Each event typically requires 2 or 3 timekeepers, a sign on and results person, a scrutinieer/marshal, a pusher, a number caller and an additional marshal. We do have a dedicated team of regular helpers but are always looking for additional resource, Help and assistance will be given in taking on any role.
I would especially ask any Racing or Ex Racing members who are currently not competing to put something back into such a rewarding sport and enable the next generation of riders to benefit from your experience.

If you are able to help please get in touch with the Time Trial Organiser or any committee member.
Please come and give Time Trialling a go, you may even enjoy it. Club evening events are a good introduction to this element of cycling and you will be encouraged and supported by other likeminded members.
