Coaching Team

Fareham Wheelers Cycling Club has four British Cycling coaches. All our coaches hold valid First Aid certificates, have undergone ‘Safe Guarding and Child Protection’ training, undertaken a DBS check and hold British Cycling Coaching Indemnity and Liability Insurance.

As Level 2 Coaches, none of the team are able to offer one to one coaching sessions and are only permitted to lead training sessions with a minimum group of 3 riders.

Angus Fileman – Lead Coach

As our lead coach, Angus coordinates the sessions that the club offers and is the Coach to contact if you would like the club to arrange a particular session or if you would like to find out about other sessions available in the region.

British Cycling Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Cycling
British Cycling using rollers in cycling
Mountain Bike Leaders Award (MIAS)

Additionally, Angus is a qualified Teacher

Nigel Marris

Nigel brings a wealth of experience to the coaching team. A former Category 3 Racer and Club Time Trial champion, Nigel is able to draw on this experience to give context to all those FWCC riders who may or may not be interested in pinning a number on, or equally who want to improve their technical ability on the bike.

Kerry Sedman

Kerry adds the female touch to the coaching team, and her desire is to help and encourage both our younger members as well as female riders whether they are new or experienced and help them progress with their cycling journey.

Coaching Opportunities

Coaching sessions and events will be posted up on the FWCC Facebook page as well as the FWCC webpage as we are able to arrange them. If you have a particular interest or coaching requirement please contact Angus Fileman Lead coach.
