The usual Club evening series of TT’s has been planned, with eight 10 mile, one 15 mile one 20 mile and of course a Hill Climb at the tail end of the season, an interclub 25 has also been scheduled as we are hoping the PTTL will go ahead this year between the local clubs.
We have once again tried to foresee as many problems as possible and have an alternative course for most events in case of roadworks.
The entry fees for club events will remain the same as last year, being £6 per ride for all riders over the age of 18 and £4 per ride for all riders under 18.
Please be aware that for all club events, riders must wear a crash hat and start the event with a working rear light fitted to the bike. If you do not comply you will not be permitted to start the event.
In order to be able to run these events we require a team of Time Keepers and helpers, each event normally requires : 2 – 3 Time Keepers, 1 sign on / results person, 1 Scruteneer/ marshal, 1 Pusher, 1 Number Caller and an additional Marshal around the course.
Although we do have a regular group of helpers we are currently low on numbers of volunteers. If anyone is interested in becoming a Time Keeper or assisting in any other way, we would be pleased to hear from you. We can support you with more information and training is available, if required.
I would especially ask any racing or ex-racing members who are not currently competing to put something back into what is such a rewarding aspect of this sport and enable the next generation of riders to benefit from your experience. If you are able to help please get in touch with the TT Organiser or any Committee member.
Come along and give Time Trialling a go, you may even enjoy it, the Club evening events are a great introduction to this side of the sport and you will be encouraged and supported by other likeminded Club Members. If you would like more details about Time Trials please feel free to contact me.
